Carry & Ron - the tiny concert - kultig, zeitlos, pur – das "Wohnzimmerkonzert" als exklusives Musikerlebnis
OUR HISTORY FROM 1988 TO TODAY IN BRIEF 1988 Our journey together in the music industry began in May 1988 in a music bar. After several sessions together, the group Carry & Ron was formed. In August, we produced our first single. 1989 This year, we performed on stage over a hundred times. In August, we signed our first record deal and recorded our first album in Austria. 1990 We recorded our second album in Austria and made our first joint television appearance on ARD's evening program. 1991 Together with German producer and publisher Michael Holm, we travel to Nashville, Tennessee (USA) and produce the album “I.O.U.” in the studio with musicians from Cristal Gayle, Garth Brooks, Don Williams, and Elvis Presley's former band. The result is an album that also attracts a lot of attention in Germany and will prove to be a bestseller in Asia five years later. 1992 In January, we go on tour in Germany as the support act for the British rock band Procol Harum (A Whiter Shade of Pale). Numerous television appearances (RTL, SAT 1, ZDF, MDR, ARD, ORF) and more than two thousand radio broadcasts make our song “Friendly Fire” from the album “I.O.U.” a long-running hit. In the fall, the album “Mission of Love” is produced in Nashville, again with the tried and tested team. Meanwhile, songs from the album “I.O.U.” are already being played on the radio in America. 1993 We receive two music awards for Duo of the Year 1992, including one from the German-American Country Music Federation (GACMF). Musicians from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland now accompany us at various concerts. However, we continue to perform as a duo in clubs and at festivals. The two albums “I.O.U” and “Mission of Love” are released in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Australia. 1994 The GACMF jury votes “Mission of Love” Single of the Year 1993 and Carry & Ron Duo of the Year 1993. In July, we fly to Nashville again to record our fifth album, “Legend in the Making,” with American producers Brian Cadd and John Beland (members of the legendary Flying Burrito Brothers). The participation of the Jordanaires (Elvis Presley's original backing singers) prompts TV station TNN to film an in-depth report on our production. This report is broadcast four times nationwide in the US and Canada. The TENNESSEEAN, the daily newspaper in Tennessee, also reports in detail on Carry & Ron and the new album “Legend in the Making.” 1995 While we are on a promotional tour in the USA in January, the GACMF once again presents us with the award for Duo of the Year. From mid-May to the end of June, we go on tour in Germany, accompanied by the Gary Talley Band from the USA. Bandleader Gary Talley became famous as a member of the legendary Box Tops. In December, we are back on tour in Germany with the Gary Talley Band and a gospel choir from Chicago for a Christmas tour. The American airline NORTHWEST AIRLINES gives us an advertising contract and provides us with all the airline tickets we need for the year. 1996 In the first half of the year, the two albums CARRY ON and GOSPELS, BALLADS, CHRISTMAS SONGS are produced, again in Nashville (USA). US legends such as Todd Cerney, Jim Horn, and Larry Knechtel (pianist for Simon & Garfunkel) are among those in the studio. While the two new albums are released in Europe, the 1991 album “I.O.U.” is released in Asia and spends 12 weeks at number 1 in the pop charts in South Korea. In December, we fly to Korea and receive double platinum for a total of approximately 1.5 million albums sold of “I.O.U.” and several million samplers. 1997 TV magazines, radio, and the press now also report extensively in Germany on the success in Asia. We travel to Asia again and then to the US to prepare for further releases and concerts. 1998 This year we celebrate our 10th anniversary on stage. At the end of '98, Deutsche Post asks us to write and produce a song for their express service “PostExpress.” 1999 More productions for Deutsche Post, Siemens, Essex Pharma, and other companies follow. We mostly step back from the stage and focus on developing and producing company songs. 2000 We receive a commission from World Vision Germany to produce a world music album for the organization. This production takes us to Senegal, Ecuador, Thailand, and back to the USA, among other places. 2001 We produced the CD “Lebensbrücken” for the organization Deutsche Lebensbrücke, featuring many celebrities such as Johannes B. Kerner, Prof. Peter Weck, Christiane Hörbiger, Marie Luise Marjan, Christine Neubauer, Nina Ruge, and many more. 2002 We are commissioned to write and produce an advertising song for the company MARKTKAUF (then AVA Bielefeld). This results in an extensive campaign with a complete album with a total circulation of 1 million CDs and many live performances throughout Germany. 2003 to 2007 We are commissioned to produce a Russian version of the Marktkauf song and fly to St. Petersburg for this purpose. This is followed by many other productions for companies, as well as for charity projects on behalf of Care International, International Children Help, and the German Children's Cancer Foundation. In 2007, the idea for a unique music workshop concept was born, which remained the focus of our joint work until March 2020. 2008 In February, our new workshop was used for the first time as part of a team event organized by EADS. Other companies booked the workshop and the extraordinary idea became a success. 2009 We are given the opportunity to carry out two pilot projects with our workshop concept in the social sector. The German Children's Cancer Foundation and the Tannheim Aftercare Clinic are our first clients. Under the label “lifenotes,” our one-day songwriting project gradually establishes itself in therapeutic and social work. 2010 to 2020 The “lifenotes” project, which from 2019 onwards is also known as “writeyoursong,” becomes a real success story with around 300 assignments throughout Germany in the social and therapeutic sectors, as well as a team-building workshop. In cooperation with the German Children's Cancer Foundation, we launched the music project “Lichtspiel” in 2016 for a total of six years, which has produced great songs and music videos. 2020 to 2023 With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, we developed new working methods and created the conceptual and technical requirements for unique online offerings. We have been working at the Tannheim aftercare clinic since 2009 with the group project writeyoursong - lifenotes. 2024 to present In January 2024, we launched the project “Legends – Die Musikwelt Backstage” (Legends – The Music World Backstage), taking listeners on a journey through more than six decades of music history. From the golden era of the 1960s to the 1990s to today's digital revolution, we dive deep into the world of music and let those who shaped it have their say. In our conversations with artists, producers, and other contemporary witnesses, we take a look behind the scenes of the music business.
